Sports injury, in the broadest sense, refers to the kinds of injuries that most commonly occur during sports or exercise. Some sports injuries result from accidents; others are due to poor training practices, improper equipment, lack of conditioning, or insufficient warm-up and stretching. Sports injuries are of 2 types i.e. chronic and acute injuries.
An Acute Injury is an injury that occur suddenly, for example, a bad landing that causes a sprained ankle. Strained backs, and fractured hands are also types of Acute Injuries.
Symptoms include: swelling, severe pain, extreme weakness, visibly displaced joint or bone, inability in normal joint movement, tenderness.
A Chronic Injury is due to the repeated overuse of joints and/or muscle groups. For example, structural abnormalities and poor techniques can develop chronic injuries.
Symptoms include: Swelling, pain while playing or exercising, dull ache in the rest position.
